Being able to write succinctly is an art. Choosing the right word, constructing clear sentences and putting them together in readable prose is a service that we offer to our clients. We have written a number of articles, brochures, web sites, reports and new business proposals, all with the same care for choosing the right words to send the desired message. Project: Newsletters
Client: Lutheran Hospital
Assignment: Lutheran Hospital (www.lutheranhospital.org), a 204-bed acute-care facility in Ohio City, wanted copy for its inaugural Spring 2008 and Fall 2008 community newsletters. Working with Lutheran's Marketing Department, I interviewed patients, physicians, nurses and other staff members to develop stories on assigned topics, including patient features on congestive heart failure for the Spring issue and one on dieting and exercise for the Fall issue.

Project: Advertorials
Client: Lutheran Hospital
Assignments: Lutheran Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, wanted copy developed to use in advertorials highlighting the hospital's physicians. The assignment included interviewing the physicians and writing the copy for publication in various Sun Newspapers. Interviews included Dr. Babak Tousi on dementia, published April 17, 2008; Dr. Muhammed Zahra on congestive heart failure, published July 10, 2008; and Dr. Isam Diab on osteoporosis, published Dec. 11, 2008.

Project: Physician Magazine
Client: Lake Hospital System
Assignment: Lake Hospital System decided to create a magazine to be distributed to the 570 physicians on staff. I wrote the feature articles and physician bios for several issues of the 16-page Physician Connection. Topics for Issue 3 included gynecological surgeries, short-term memory loss, laparoscopic nephrectomy, minimally invasive treatment for carotid artery disease, laparoscopic colon surgery and chronic pain.

Project: Wedding Feature
Client: Cleveland Jewish News
Assignment: The Cleveland Jewish News' Special Sections Editor needed a 500- to 700-word feature on bridal gowns for its 2006 Weddings issue. She gave me five names of wedding fashionistas to interview on style trends, flattering lines for various body types, alterations and second-time bridal attire.

Project: Healthcare Article
Client: Cleveland Jewish News
Assignment: The Cleveland Jewish News wanted a consumer article on "the common influenza that plagues us every winter." I was asked to interview two to three physicians for answers to such questions as, What is the flu? For whom is it particularly dangerous? How can we prevent it? How do we treat it? Article length: 930 words.
